Mentally Deranged Man Burnt To Death In Oyo State Nigeria

A man suspected to be mentally deranged was
yesterday burnt to death by a mob while another
was rescued by policemen.
Two other people were also arrested at the Ibadan
Forest of Death by security operatives for allegedly
being in possession of incriminating items.
The suspected lunatic was burnt at Oke Ado area,
Ibadan, Oyo State by a mob who suspected that he
was a kidnapper.
A pistol and an unknown amount of money in
foreign currencies were found on the man but the
mob took away the items before the arrival of the
police.
The second suspected man was nabbed by
another mob at Mokola but was rescued by
policemen attached to Sango Police Division.
Public relations officer of the state police
command, SP Olabisi Ilobanafor who confirmed the
two incidents said 42 SIM cards of various
networks, three national identity cards bearing
various names and N11,600 cash of different
denominations were recovered from one of the
suspected mad men.
Meanwhile, a suspect Sulaiman Olajide Popoola,
54, who was arrested at the forest for allegedly
scavenging at the site, claimed that he came from
Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State to the site in search of
chicken feed.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Abubakar, has ordered the Lagos State Police Command's Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, to re-open the 13 years old alleged killing of four Igbo youths by policemen attached to Aguda part of Surulere in Lagos State in 2001. Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the Network on Police Reform in Nigeria (NOPRIN) had recently urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar to respond to the request of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, that he provides the Honourable Attorney General of Lagos with the outcome of police investigation into the alleged extra judicial execution of four youths in Lagos in 2001.
