Dora Akuyili was spotted at the National
Conference in Abuja yesterday to contribute her
quota to the deliberation of delegates. Here is what
she said at the event… "I just need to put on some
weight. There is a saying in Igboland that goes this
way: "Let the sickness take the flesh but leave the
bones because with time the bones would grow
new flesh. I just came out of a major sickness, for
which I thank Almighty God for delivering me. I
know that God did that for a purpose, this National
Conference being part of that purpose. I am well
now but only need time to put on more weight"

"Aviation experts and analysts have said that Nigeria is the fastest growing aviation market in the world after China". At least 12 brand new private jets ordered by Nigerians and some corporate bodies will be delivered to the country this year. This is an offshoot of the projection by private jet manufacturers to deliver 70 brand new private jets to the country within the next five years. The Regional Vice-President, Sales, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Bombardier Business Aircraft, the Canada-based aircraft manufacturing firm, Mr. Khadar Mattar, who made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, described the private jet market in Nigeria as currently "booming." Confusion enveloped the Shagari Plaza on Moshood Abiola Way, Garki-Area one, Abuja, on Thursday over an explosion in the shopping complex. Customers and residents of the area fled the neighborhood fearing that the explosions, which occurred in quick succession, were the handiwork of violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and could be bomb blasts. An eyewitness said the first explosion occurred at about 5:17pm when a gas cylinder exploded. A jeep parked close to the gas dispenser went up in flame. The gas retailer, who tried to recover his money kept under one of the cylinders was also caught in the explosion while trying to save his earnings for the day.
