Multiple accident on the Potiskum- Maiduguri highway.

Thirty five people, including nineteen church
attendees who were coming back from the
service, died on Monday in a multiple accident on
the Potiskum-Maiduguri highway.
According to Yusuf Sani, spokesman of the Federal
Road Safety Commission in Yobe, the bodies of all
the 19 members of Redeemed Christian Church of
God were burnt beyond recognition.
He attributed the tragedy to over speeding and
lamented that scores of people lost their lives only
in the recent two days in road accidents.
The main reasons for crashes, which unfortunately
often occur on poorly maintained Nigerian roads,
are speeding, overloading and reckless driving.

Confusion enveloped the Shagari Plaza on Moshood Abiola Way, Garki-Area one, Abuja, on Thursday over an explosion in the shopping complex. Customers and residents of the area fled the neighborhood fearing that the explosions, which occurred in quick succession, were the handiwork of violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and could be bomb blasts.
